Contributions to Swiss annual inflation

A tool to calculate item contributions to Swiss annual headline inflation correcting for chain-linking of the underlying time series data. Calculation of customized inflation indices based on user input is also available. All data is sourced from the BfS.

Select the items of interest here. Results will be displayed in the other tabs. For correct results make sure that you do not select overlapping items and/or that weights do not add up to more than 100%.

In addition to the single item contributions, the tool will also calculate the YoY-rate of these items in aggregate as well as that of the aggregated remaining items.

The table displays the contributions to headline inflation of each selected item as well as that of the remaining items (=Total ex selected).

YoY-rates

The table displays the YoY-growth rates of the selected items (as an aggregate) as well as the remaining items (=Total ex selected).

Index values

The table displays the chained index values of the selected items (as an aggregate) as well as the remaining items (=Total ex selected).

Weights

The table displays the weights of the selected items (as an aggregate) as well as the remaining items (=Total ex selected).
